Learning Through My Baby's Eyes

It had rained heavily the whole day, and by the time the rainfall tricked to a slow drizzle, it was last light. I really wanted to take my baby girl out for a stroll, so I carried her and brought her down to the barbeque pit area of my house to show her around.

She stared at the leaves of the bamboo plant, and was absolutely fascinated with the water dripping off the thin bamboo leaves. As I touched each leaf, the drop of water that had formed in each leaf fell magically to the ground. She squealed in delight. Such simple things in life thrilled her!

I then thought if it was possible to always be there to watch her grow during every stage of her life?

I want that freedom of time to do so.
I want that freedom to enjoy time with my loved ones.

I want that freedom of mind to enjoy time without having to worry about finance and health.

Then I smiled at her. Cause I realised that I've started to build my pipelines that will enable me to do all these.

And I can see it in the near future.

Have you? :)

Cheers,
Mark

MENTALITY OF THE RICH

MENTALITY OF THE RICH

In this sharing, please note that the Rich and Poor people in this context refers to their mindset, not wealth.

Today, I will share with you all, the mentality of RICH People, and how nature has taught them to be even richer!

Let’s first take a look at an apple tree.
There might be five hundred apples on the tree, but each apple has just ten seeds.
That's a lot of seeds!
We might ask, "Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more apple trees?"
Well, Nature has something to teach us here.
It's telling us in a subtle way that, "Not all seeds grow. In life, most seeds never grow.
So if you really want to make something happen, you had better do more than once."

This means:
• You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job.
• You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.
• You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, one car, one vacuum cleaner, one insurance policy, or a business idea.
• And you might meet a hundred acquaintances just to find one special friend.

So when we understand the "Law of the Seeds", (some people call it the Law of Averages) we don't get so disappointed.
We stop feeling like victims.
We learn how to deal with things that happen to us.
You see, the laws of nature are not things to be taken personally.
We just need to understand them better and to and work with them.

You must understand that Rich people fail more often. And they continue to plant more seeds.

So when things are beyond your control, here's something that Poor People would react almost immediately:

HOW POOR PEOPLE BEHAVE:
• You decide how you think the world SHOULD be.
• You make rules for how everyone SHOULD behave.
• Friends SHOULD return favours.
• People SHOULD appreciate you.
• Planes SHOULD arrive on time.
• Everyone SHOULD be honest.
• Your best friend SHOULD remember your birthday.

These expectations may sound reasonable. But often, these things won't happen! So you end up frustrated and disappointed.

HOW RICH PEOPLE BEHAVE:
When something unexpected occurs, you exclaimed, “That’s good!”
You proceed to shift your mindset and attitude.

When it rains just before your golf game, you exclaimed, “That’s good! I can stay home and play with my kids!”
When your boss throws back the project at your face, you exclaimed, “That’s good! Now I can come up with an even better one!”
When you get stuck in the traffic, you exclaimed, “That’s good! I can now listen to good music on the radio.”
When your wife takes too long to put on her make up just before you both go out on a date, you exclaimed, “That’s good! She wants to look pretty so match the handsome me!”
When the 49th person rejects your sale, you exclaimed, “That’s good! Let me find the next one who will buy my product!”

Shifting of your mindset and attitude can bring wonders. If you think that you are bigger than the problem, then the problem becomes smaller and you can overcome all problems.

So shout out to the world, “THAT’S GOOD!!!”

The Story of The Pipeline

Wages earn you a living, whilst Profits make you a fortune.

One must first be able to discern between the 2 money concepts here, "Wages" and "Profits".

WAGES. A Wage is a compensation, usually financial, received by a worker in exchange for his/her labour.
  • Compensation in terms of wages is given to the worker, and compensation in terms of salary is given to employees.
  • Hence, Compensation are monetary benefits given to employees in exchange for the services provided by them.
PROFITS. Profits in economics = Total Revenue minus Total Cost
  • An employer pays an employee wages so that at the end of the day the employee will earn profits for the company. This is after the employee has slogged hard to bring in business contracts, and sales of products and services. Even then, the individual worker's hard-work is seldom appreciated as it is the total number of workers bringing in the sales that the company looks out for.
  • This is the reason for some companies to portray themselves as being attractive by branding their salary plan as being Profit Sharing. This spurs workers to work harder.
  • Hence if the company enjoys higher revenue, and lower cost at the same time, the profits would theoretically be higher.
"When you bring in more revenue for the company and reduce cost at the same time, you would be bringing in higher profits for everyone". True or not?

True. But must we live such a life?

COMMON GROUSES.
  1. Why must we do so much, for so little in return?
  2. Why is it that when we dedicate 24hrs a day to work for a company, it does not pay us back in full.
  3. Do you feel that there are times that you are underappreciated working in a company?
  4. We could be paid so much because we are expected to deliver much more in return.
  5. Is earning a living from wages, enough to make me a fortune?
  6. I will not starve working for this job, but my hunger will never be satisfied.

Feel free to watch this movie, THE PIPELINE, if you want to seek answers to these grouses.
  • Please use the password, 3285981 to view this 10 min movie. It could change your perception of life.
  • It depicts why we work so hard in our work, and yet do not seem to be able to break out of this cycle of despair.
THE WAY FORWARD. The only way forward is to build your own pipeline. Building your own pipeline, determines the extent and sacrifices that you are willing to make while others seem to be enjoing a care-free life superficially.
  • Building your own pipeline represents forgoing all present benefits for a future, more sustainable one.
  • Only when you start to build your own pipeline, will you be able to make profits for yourself, and in turn your own fortune. You are no longer shackled by wages, and rather you would release yourself by the building power of profits.
Hence the saying, Wages earn you a living, whilst Profits make you a fortune.

The Sentosa Resort & Spa

Wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we checked into the Sentosa Resort and Spa.

Both of us had been here before and we wanted to have a relaxing weekend; to soak in the sun and to enjoy the picturesque setting in this place. To just revel in the company of each other.

And it was indeed more than we have bargained for as we were ushered to the deluxe suite instead of the usual deluxe room. A complimentary upgrade had been extended to us as we were returned guests as well as members of the SLH circle!

"With a choice of more than 480 exquisite hotels spanning over 70 countries, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLHW) offers its members an infinite variety of memorable experiences. From classic city centre sanctuaries, historic country house retreats, idyllic private islands to remote safari lodges: whatever our inclination, SLHW guarantees to provide us with an exclusive hotel with its own charm and character."

We were indeed blown away by the warmth and hospitality showered upon us, as we were greeted everywhere we went, by name..

Such was the classic touch of exclusiveness.
